Neutron and Radiation Detection Laboratory of Amirkabir University, Faculty of Energy and Physics Engineering, with a variety of detectors, gamma, and neutron sources, measuring devices and various required modules, the possibility of proper protection during testing, along with technical instructions and standard testing of various experiments allows for a variety of radiation application experiments.

For example, due to having neutron sources, design and fabrication of neutron detectors, neutron and gamma separation to determine the energy spectrum of neutrons and gamma of the neutron sources, measuring the flux of pulsed neutron sources, calibration of neutron sources, and determining the power and amount of neutrons of neutron sources (continuous pulses), experiments related to the activation of gold ؟ and other materials to analyze and measure the energy spectrum of neutron sources, neutron flux measurement, flux, dose, and neutron energy spectrum measurement in linear accelerators.
In addition, the presence of HPGe detectors, BF3 detectors, sodium iodine, etc. in this laboratory, makes it possible to measure the characteristics of these nuclear detectors in terms of energy separation, efficiency, sensitivity, energy response, etc. It also makes it possible to analyze industrial, medical and agricultural samples and determine the percentage of elements and impurities in them.

In this laboratory, there are various measuring devices and modules for performing various nuclear tests, and as a result, it is possible to measure the nuclear parameters of different materials such as neutron and gamma absorption (HVL and TVL), measuring the half-life of radioactive sources, repairs and re-launching of nuclear detectors, training, and commissioning of nuclear electronic systems, design, and commissioning of experiments for industrial, medical and agricultural applications, shielding calculations.

Other features of this laboratory include the existence of gamma sources that allow coincidence experiments and modeling of medical imaging systems. In this laboratory, it is also possible to perform simulations and calculations of these imaging systems.
